MonkDev has been truly blessed this year. When we look back at the year we have a lot of favorite memories.
Some of our favorite moments include:
Last January, company history was made - for the first time ever, our entire team was under one roof at the same time.
The team met at our San Diego headquarters for a week of training, quality time, and (one of our company's favorite pastimes) foosball!
With some of our team members working remote from various corners of the US, having the whole team together was a treat and definitely a highlight of the year. See more about team week.
In November, Beau from Business Development and Chris from Customer Experience took some time to share their work experience with a computing class at a local high school. Gompers Preparatory Academy was excited to have Monk spend a full day in their Digital Animation elective course to compliment the curriculum on teamwork and collaborative projects in technology.
This past September we took the time to gather some of the MonkDev leaders for a weeklong planning retreat.
Our CEO, Drew, sees the captain's retreat as one of the highlights of his year and said, "It was incredible to spend some time on the vision of where we'd like Monk to go and to see how passionate the team was to participate in this vision. In fact, the three partners (James, Drew & Etienne) left on the last day to let the team build and present the plan for the next year. Their plan was better than I could have imagined. I love the culture and alignment of the team at Monk!"
When we saw how successful the captain's retreat was,
The Dev team retreat was an exciting opportunity for the MonkDev developers to grow closer as a team, rally around our core values, optimize methods, and plan for the future. They discussed the vision of MonkDev and how the Dev team could lead the way in making sure we could deliver products that actually changed lives for the better and allow the Gospel to be worked out in the lives of those using our services.
We could try and explain why this is so amazing, but why bother when James, MonkDev President and COO, said it so well.
James starts, "We are excited to announce Monk Development made the Inc. 5000's Fastest Growing Private Companies list this year. Sure, we think the plaque will look good on our wall and of course it is an honor to be recognized by outside organizations for our hard work. But, none of that means anything. What absolutely excites us is our passion to live out our values and deliver on the promise we've made our customers." Read more about this.
There is a growing community of Monk Development and Ekklesia 360 users around the nation. We are so blessed and thankful to partner with churches to help further their mission online.
2013 saw a major shift to responsive design with the vast majority of our new builds choosing to go responsive. A year ago, we had about 20% of clients going responsive. Now, the opposite is true, with about 20% of new customer choosing not to go responsive. It is very exciting to witness advancements in technology and see our clients embracing them.
Here are a few standout designs from the year.
Green Bay Community Church - Community Impact Menu
This fully customizable menu is a fantastic way to show how God is moving in their church and in the community of Green Bay. Different ministry outreaches can be highlighted and it is really easy for users to get involved and "Make an Impact."
First Baptist Jackson - Custom Small Group Finder
FBC Jackson has dozens of small groups, but there was not a consolidated list, or an easy way for users to find a group. This custom small group finder makes it easy to find a group by interest, life stage, time, and location.
Port City Community Church - Custom Multi-Site Design
Port City currently has two campuses and will eventually grow to plant more. They needed a unified look for their different locations but wanted to be able to have specific content for each. Their easy to use "Choose a Campus" menu makes it easy for users to see where Port City Churches are located and find specifics pieces of information.
What ones did we miss? Let us know in the comments below.
We'd like to thank all of our ministry partners for another great year! Thank you for all that you do.
