Kenny has been around MonkDev for a while now. He started out as a front-end website developer and has since transitioned to a full-time Developer and UX/UI Designer. Kenny has a heart of gold and is considered to be a modern-day renaissance man.

We recently had a chance to sit down with Kenny and learn a bit more about what makes him tick.

You’ve been on the MonkDev team in various positions over the years. At one point you were building out our responsive e360 Themes, which ones did you build?

Thats right! I’ve had the privilege of serving the church from a number of different positions at MonkDev. During my time as a front-end developer, I designed one and built seven of our e630 Themes.

You’ve also worked on large projects for our ministry partners. Which one are you most proud of and why?

Well, we just wrapping up one of our largest projects to date, Fellowship Bible Little Rock, so keep an eye out for our case study on that one! Cottonwood Creek also holds a special place in my heart. From the streamlined navigation to the custom ministry layouts and even the delightful design, everything about this site shows that Cottonwood Creek’s visitors are their top priority.

What are you most excited about in your new role?

As Monk’s newest software developer and UI/UX designer, I am most excited to make all of our products easier to use than ever! I’m really encouraged by the direction we are heading, and I’m incredibly honored to be a part of it.

In your new role here at MonkDev, you’ve been working on a project that just finished up. Can you tell us a little more about that?

The team has been hard at work reimagining the forms module. Crystal—our rockstar UI/UX Designer—and I have worked hard to craft an intuitive interface that will make form creation a breeze. We are really proud of the end result and are confident that it will free up your time to pursue the ministry that God has called you to!

On a lighter side, if you could walk barefoot anywhere where would you walk?

My friends joke with me about how I earned my trail-name, Gorillafoot Jones. The short version of the story is that I ended up hiking down an entire mountain barefoot. Needless to say I’ve exercised better judgment. Walking on carpet hurt for at least the following week.

Who in your life do you admire the most?

My mother has always been an inspiration to me. She is an incredibly selfless, kind, and compassionate woman who has never failed to encourage me during all seasons of my life. Shameless plug: She is a very talented real estate agent at Sotheby’s. If you’re in the market, make sure to look her up!

Last question, what else do we need to know about Kenny?

I love to draw. Simple images can convey such deep truths about God, man, and how we relate to one another. I hope that regardless if it is through my artwork, my professional work, or through my daily life, that God would be glorified.
